The chair cover arrived quickly and tightly folded inside a plastic bag. I have not washed the cover yet, but I am very pleased with how easy it was to fit onto the chair, the quality of the fabric, the colors, and the overall appearance. It also appears that the initial wrinkles in the fabric have lessened as the cover settles onto the chair, so if you are unable to wash, or at least rinse, the cover immediately, you may find that it looks good anyway. This cover gave the chair new life. I was not seeking a precise fit, or a stretched smooth appearance. I prefer the gathered look of the fabric of this medium-sized cover on m small-to-medium-size chair.At first, I was confused as to how to place the cover on the chair but began by placing the string ties in back, at the base of the chair. I do not know whether this is correct, but it works for me. I could then raise the rest of the cover up and over, letting it drop down the sides, over the seat, and down the front--into all the right places. At that point, you begin discovering where the seams should align on the very front ends of the arms.The elastic gathers hug the bottom of the chair all the way around, and you can tie the two strings together at the base of the back of the chair. From there, you will tuck the fabric around the seat, and begin tweaking the placement of the seams and the gathers, if you have any leftover material.Taking photos showed me more clearly where I need to adjust the cover now. The design you've chosen if you purchased a print, helps you to make any needed adjustments to get the cover into place just so.As far as care, I will eventually wash this on a delicate cycle and dry it on the lowest heat setting, to make it look nice, longer. I will purchase a second cover, this time for my other chair, so they match. The throw pillow cover is a nice bonus--I did not measure it, but it is either 16" or 18".
